Artscape 2021 Canceled

Due to the continuing threat from the COVID health crisis, the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA) announces that Artscape, the Baltimore summer tradition, will not be held in 2021. BOPA looks forward to resuming traditional citywide celebrations, during the summer of 2022. Until then, Artscape fans and the Baltimore community can still experience some of the art, food, and festival atmosphere of Artscape every Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to noon at the Baltimore Farmers’ Market & Bazaar under the Jones Falls Expressway.

Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize Finalists Exhibitions

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA) is proud to announce that LaToya M. Hobbs is the winner of the 15th annual Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize. The competition awarded a $25,000 fellowship over twelve months to the winner, with each of the remaining finalists receiving an M&T Bank Finalist Award of $2,500. Semifinalists will be awarded a $500 honorarium, also partially financed by a gift from M&T Bank this year.

2020 Sondheim Winner: LaToya M. Hobbs

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts is proud to announce that LaToya M. Hobbs is the winner of the 2020 Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize.

“I am so excited, so happy and just filled with so much gratitude,” said Hobbs during the award ceremony. “It is an honor to continue in the tradition of the Sondheim Award and an absolute pleasure to share my work with you.”
