In an effort to provide a positive experience for all festival goers, Artscape has created an access plan to help navigate to and around the festival.
After reading the Artscape Access Plan thoroughly, please direct any questions to our access coordinator, Tara Tharrington (ttharrington@promotionandarts.com or 410-752-8632 or 443-447-1174 during the festival).
The deadline to request the following services is Friday, June 11, 2010:
• Sign Language Interpreter
• Braille or Large Print Version of the Festival Program (a copy will also be available at the Guest Services Tent on Mt. Royal Avenue and Oliver Street in front of the Lyric)
• Guided Tour of the festival site for blind festival goers

GETTING TO THE FESTIVAL
Take the MTA :
• All MTA services are accessible for individuals with disabilities

Charm City Circulator:
• This dedicated accessible bus will be making several stops around the festival perimeter (Howard Street, North Avenue, St. Paul Street and Chase Street) in addition to its regular route
Driving:

• The new Fitzgerald garage is completely accessible and located in the middle of the festival grounds.
AT THE FESTIVAL

• Feel free to visit the Guest Services Tent on Mt. Royal Avenue and Oliver Street in front of the Lyric. Festival staff and volunteers will be happy to assist you. You can also read the Braille or Large Print Version of the Festival Program or listen to the program on an MP3 player here.
• Please Note: the festival site is very crowded and difficult to maneuver. Please be sure to operate your mobility device in a safe and courteous manner.
• Charm City Circulator will have a dedicated festival bus/route for the weekend. This air-conditioned and accessible shuttle will run 30 minutes prior and one hour past Artscape’s hours of operation. This shuttle is a great way to get around the grounds of the busy festival.

• Viewing Area at the Main Stage: Festival goers who use wheelchairs or with mobility disabilities that substantially limits the ability to stand may stop by the Guest Services Tent to request a pass to use this reserved area. This is a very limited area, so please get your pass early. One quest will be able to join you.
• All indoor visual art exhibits and performing arts venues are accessible.
• Accessible portable toilets are available throughout the festival site and wherever other portable toilets are located.
• Service animals are allowed at the festival. Service animals must be under the control of their owners, on a leash and along side of its owner at all times. Disruptive or dangerous animals will be asked to leave the site.
• Medical Assistance is available at the Guest Services Tent.
