Schedule:
5/21: Vernissage (Invite Only)
5/22 – 5/24: Open to the public
Location:
The War Memorial, 101 North Gay Street, Baltimore, MD
Taking place May 21–24, 2026, at the War Memorial Building in Baltimore in partnership with Artscape, the fair features work from emerging and established regional artists, priced between $150 and $5,000. Scout invites both seasoned collectors and newcomers to discover and invest in exceptional contemporary art.
Founded on the belief that art should be part of everyday life, Scout supports Baltimore artists while creating an inclusive, engaging platform that fosters art appreciation and ownership across all levels. The inaugural fair was conceptualized by Baltimore native and renowned artist Derrick Adams, with assistant curation by Teri Henderson.
An invitation-only preview night on Thursday, May 21, offers early access to explore and acquire works ahead of the public opening.
This art fair is designed to build a strong reputation while fostering success for both the fair and the festival. Unlike traditional fairs that charge tiered booth fees to galleries and exhibitors, we are waiving exhibition fees to create a more accessible platform. Instead, a 35% commission will be applied to all art sales, with proceeds supporting the 501(c)(3) Create Baltimore and its operational costs. Create Baltimore will facilitate sales and taxes, while artists are responsible for delivering purchased works to collectors.

Devin Allen
Baltimore native Devin Allen is a self-taught artist who gained national recognition when his photograph of the Baltimore Uprising appeared on the cover of Time in May 2015—making him only the third amateur photographer featured on the cover. In June 2020, his image from a Black Trans Lives Matter protest was again featured on Time’s cover following the deaths of George Floyd, Tony McDade, and Breonna Taylor.
Allen was named the inaugural fellow of the Gordon Parks Foundation in 2017 and is a 2024–2025 Baldwin for the Arts Fellow. His work has appeared in major publications including The New York Times and The Washington Post, and has been exhibited at institutions such as the Baltimore Museum of Art. His photographs are held in permanent collections including the National Museum of African American History and Culture and the Studio Museum in Harlem.
An accomplished author, Allen published A Beautiful Ghetto (2017), an NAACP Image Awards nominee, and No Justice, No Peace (2022), which won a Nautilus Book Award. He also received the Gordon Parks Foundation/Steidl Book Prize, leading to Devin Allen: Baltimore (2025).
In 2021, he launched “From Baltimore. For Baltimore” in partnership with Under Armour, later reuniting for the 2025 Rose Collection. Allen is also the founder of Through Their Eyes, a youth photography program, a recipient of the Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture’s Arts and Activism award, and an ambassador for Leica Camera AG.
